frontosa and black aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Won't water ph really only matter when it comes to wild fish I mean if you have 3rd 4th etc captive bred fish I would think the need kinda breeds out of them and wouldn't a steady 7.2 ph be more important than a ph that jumps around ?

Correct. the whole param argument works well for WC fish but the healthiest surroundings for a captive bred fish are the same params that the breeding facility used.
Also I have seen frontosa and Aro together many times.

There is a huge L shaped tank at an LFS in my city, they have a really old big Asian Aro maybe 3 feet long, two huge frontosa, a redhead cichlid, some monster clown loaches, a giant KKP etc fish have been together for years

I hate the whole water parameters argument. How many people actually use peat or the media of their choosing to soften the water when they keep aros? Vice versa how many use cichlid salt to harden the water for their frontosas? Worst argument against keeping fish from different regions ever. Truth of the matter is I've personally seen a tank with aros and frontosas. Not only did it work the tank was stunning, two very regal fish swimming side by side (tank was a 300g). Granted if you do it make sure you have the appropriate sized aquarium, shove those fish in a 125g and I'm sure you will have issues!
!

Agreed water perimeters mostly matter to WC fish. Ever fish is the LFS is in the exact same water perimeters, they are also breed in the same water perimeters.

For the OP question. It might work given you have a very large tank.

Don't order growth rates frontosa are known to be slow growers I don't know about arrows but just don't want an expensive dinner for your arrow a month or two down the line if you have the right size tank do it might look nice as all heck
