Mine breed like hell. 4males 14 females, 76-77 temp, they like cool water changes, feed them krill, market shrimp, scallops. Put a 12 inch flower pot in the corner of the tank and the alpha male will use this as his breeding cave. It takes time but it will work!

as far as i know they have to be about 2 years of age and around 8"-10" to breed.
I have 9 of them in my tank.they are about 5" and around a year old.

2 years of age or older, size is not the deciding factor, they have to be mature

Frontosa do NOT pair off. One male (usually the alpha) will mate with a group of females.

so if one male starts breeding with females, in that case should we remove the other males??

no you should have both the males.
the larger one is the alpha male and breeds.
if it gets sick or if it is removed from the tank the other male that is the beta male will take the alpha position and breed with the females.
The females wont accept any new male in their teritorry once they start breeding.

i keep mine at 87deg and i have tried the water change trick and it didnt work

Water is way too warm!
