If it's your first Frontosa colony go with something cheaper ...Kigoma/Boulomboro/Bangwe (the 7 stripes variants)

The Blue Zaire can cost you almost 200$/each for wild caughts.

I have a few WC Moba. If I could do it again I would probably get some WC Mpimbwe. You can get a WC group of 6 for around 500 or so. They are about 1/2 of what WC Mobas go for. Since I already have a few WC I will probably bite the bullet and buy another 6 WC Moba. That will give me 8 in my 240. GL

In 125gal tank I currently have around 12 there are around 5 of them that are 5 to 6in and once they start to get even bigger they will be housed in 300gal for breeding and should be fine by them selfs, Mine are all Burundi and looking awesome. 1 of my biggest one is my avatar.

I ordered some nice wild caught from mosta-frontosa, bob is great to deal with. I would probably get around 8. 2 males and 6 females.

Awesome pictures those look really good:headbang2!

great looking fish
sorry to stray from topic but, why does nobody really want more than 1 or 2 males?
and when they get bigger is there a way to sex them other than venting?

Because most people keep them in 125/135 gal tanks, lucky colonies live in 180gal +. In a smaller 6'er a dominant male will tear his rivals to pieces. I have 6males 16females in a 400gal, males are 10-12" ...no problems whatsoever.

How often do they breed in this setup? What are the dimensions of the 400 gallon?
