Is it common for frontosa (berundi) to NOT come to the surface to take food?? I have had my Front for over a month now, and wont surface....if this is normal, does anybody have a food reccomendation?

Sinking pellets like massivore. My Frontosa has never surfaced for food in over a years time...

They wont hit the surface. They are predatory fish. Sinking pellets will do the trick

Mine will hit the food that stayed floating once they've finished up everything that has sunk. I feed 3mm NLS

It is not a good idea to feed them floating pellets as they can full of air not be able to go back to the bottom. They are deep water fish as mentioned earlier we had one who would surface but that always made us nervous I don't know if it will hurt them but better safe than sorry.

OK, Good to know......maybe a dumb question, but what is NLS?? He does take freeze dried krill....if any makes its way to the bottom, and of course frozen bloodworms that hit bottom.....I will pick up some hikari sinkers.....Thanks again! Here's a pic of my new addition! He looks really good under the LED lighting!
