what steps do you do to get your frozen shrimp to feeding?

sometimes the frozen shrimp {after it is defrosted will sink} when it does not sink i use the tongs to place it where i want it.. my fronts do love shrimp and krill as a treat once in awhile..

so thaw and cut off the tail? I have been waiting for someone to say this... I have a bag in the freezer waiting for a treat day for the fronts!!!!!!

do not defrost all of them...just a couple...unless you want to share with them...lol... i was talking about the commercial fish food shrimp..i do not see how regular shrimp would be any different if not better..yes make sure tails are off... and take only a couple...cut up in small pieces and see how they like it..

NLS all the way for my little front piggies. Treats will come as they get older.

NLS THERA +A, I also feed HBH supersoft spirulina, make sure you get sinking pellets, floating pellets are bad for fronts because they take in air as they eat.

ive been feeding my frontosas and cichlids spirulina ONLY for about a year. i started because i wanted to enhance the frontosas colors and i really think it works.

but do not trust me because ive also read that spirulina enhancing blue colors is a myth or does not work as well as expected. its also not recommended because they do eat meat in the wild and very little to no green food.

there doesnt seem the be any problems with the diet im giving them although i really think my 2 year old front should be bigger than 2.5 inches. all my burundi fronts have very nice blue colors though.

LOL, your fronts should definitely be a lot bigger than 2.5 inches, maybe around 10

yeah I have heard they suck in air when they feed from the surface and can get sick or die. So I avoid any floating food. Mainly Hikari sinking pelletsand flake.
