Frontosa, Firemouth, Convicts????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
definitely avoid pairs of any of them. you can try keeping one of each but keep an eye on the firemouth as they are not as capable at fighting back like cons and GT's. also if you get them all small make sure the GT isnt getting bullied out of its food, they can be very shy and not so defensive when young.

keep the firemouths in groups they do alot better they strees and are very scared alone with big cichlids imo. there not agresive enough alone they must be kept in groups. when i got my 4 firemouths the were always swiming thenn the day 3 died of ick the last one left was alwasy hiding or in the corner geting a beating. get 3-4 your wont regret it

i wouldnt woory to much about that. the firemouths arent really bullys and 1 male con isnt a bully either unless theres a female.thats your choice.if you want to be sure than go ahead lol i dont think theres a difrence

ive seen frontosas kept with jack dempseys at my LFS...all about 6-8 inches

I've seen a Flowerhorn in a fully planted aquarium at an LFS. Now just because the LFS did it, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Not saying you couldn't keep them together, but IMO, you should really try to keep the pH and all other water parameters at the correct range for the fish you keep.
