I know this issue has been covered, and I already look at them. But I feel like I need more help and detail information on it.
So I picked up some WC kits and found out that one of them has a popeye, I think the previous owner gave up on the fist and did a very poor job on ensuring them to be healthy. So I scooped her up and put her in the hospital tank. I have been treating her with melafix and aquarium salt. It's 3 days already and I haven't seen any improvement on her. I did about 50% water change on the hospital tank last night too.
My questions,
1. How long do I need to treat the fish with melafix? or just keep her in the hospital tank 'till it's gone? How long it'll take?
2. Should I use epsom salt, or aquarium salt is sufficient?
3. Saw a thread where someone using Visine-A to treat it. I PMed the guy, did anyone else ever try this and did it work? Thanks

imho Melafix in my experience was a waste of money with pop eye I would use tetracycline.

I second the tetracycline that is what I would use on pop-eye I would stop the melafix and make a switch to tetracycline (treats mainly gram+ and some gram -). I notice you said you did a 5-% wc on it last night, but how often are you doing water changes? I use epsom salt... not sure if it makes a difference or not. Yes you should keep her in the hospital tank for now and until it is treated. I did not use salt when I treated for it. I am assuming you don't know the cause of the pop-eye?

-Note: I moved this do diseases and health you are more likely to get a response in this section.

Thanks for the feedbacks and move it to the other section.
Now my questions are:
1. Where can I get the tetracycline? Any instructions on how to use it? I never used it in the past, so any guideline will be very much appreciated
2. 50% water change on the hospital tank only. I just purchased a WC colony, and IMO the previous owner did a poor job on the fish. That's why when I saw a popeye, I removed her right away to the hospital tank
3. Should I also use the epsom salt?

1. You should be able to find it at petsmart I am sure petco or any other similar store will have it. You can always call first and ask. Yes the box should have instructions for you as to the dosage to gallons of water and I believe it requires a daily water change.
2. Yes but how often do you do the water changes? Daily? Everyother day? I believe with Tetracycline you will need to do daily water changes.
3. It is up to you. I rarely use it - everyone is different.

pop eye is one of those things that is hard to treat....i would not use the epson salt...it is not worth the benifits....many medicins wipe out benificial bacteria so i would ad stress zyme or some thing similar to the tank
