Frontosa ?'s

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yah that tank is to small for that Front. Dont worry about the ph so much as everyone else said...they are pretty hardy fish. I have seen Fronts kept with other types of cichlids, but the front was always hiding and everyonce in awhile got picked on.

I would not try it. Fronts are somewhat skitish they dont like hyper tank mates. Male fronts can reach 14inches. I would recommend 6ft tank or bigger.
i have a 180g w/ 12 Moba fronts mixed w/ Calvus and comps.

Well to me it all depends on the attitude of your other fishes.. i mean, you know better then anyone else about the way your other fishes are and how their temper is. I say.. if your other fishes are known to be friendly then i might be ok to keep a front of the same size in the same tank.
(hec! i had a 3" front in the same tank as my 8" flowerhorn!!)

Now about the water conditions... No doubt that fronts can be very hardy!! They will learn to adapt to most water conditions!! ; )

Captive bred fronts are better at adjusting to diff. pH than wild caught

from what ive heard

I am also going to try fronts in a tank with SA cichlids. So far I only have one jack dempsey in my 150 but she is probably the most docile fish that ever lived. She is actually afraid of feeder guppies. but anyway, I am also going to be putting two jags, a male dempsey, and maybe a green terror or two. I think as long as there are enough places to hide for the front, u might be able to get away with it. thats what I'm going to do. good luck with it if u decide to get a front
