I saw these guys and i fell in love with them and i was wondering what is minimum tank size for these guys and what is the water conditions, diet and sutible tank mates and everything there is need to know?
The first thing is how many do you want? 1 can be kept in around a 70 gallon tank for quite a while. 3 or more and you will want at least a 125. I have 7 in a 265. All my fry are raised in 30 gallon breeder tanks for the first few months and usually all sell before I need to move them. You really have to base what you are going to do on how many you want to have.
I keep mine at 9.4 pH, temp around 82. There are other people that can give you ideas for tankmates. I keep all my fish in species only tanks.
One would be perfect and i have a 67g tank, dimensions are 36"x24"highx18" wide would that be big enough i was going to set up a peacock colony but if that would be able to house one then i would set up a tank the tank for him, if he could be put in there is there anything that i could put in with him, maybe one or two synos or something
I don't know about the bichir. Never had one of them. One would be fine in that tank for quite a while. A friend of mine has a 10" Burundi in a 70 gallon and he still has plenty of room and he is in their with a full grown peacock, calvus and a couple others. Synos should be fine too. I keep Syno. Eupterus in most of my tanks.
Alright well i decided im going to wait on the fronts and get a 125g tank and get 4 of them with a couple of bigger birchirs like ornate or weeksii so im really looking forward to it in a couple of years when the money and space and everything is there you no
