flowerhorn is 3 in and he not messing with the front they have tried floating pellets and sinking pellets

He's probably still adjusting, I'd give it a few more days before I got too worried, he'll get hungry eventually.

Do you know how long ago he sustained his injury? That may be a factor too.

you know the log you mention eariler, if it is a real log and not one of those artificial plastic ones, it can lower the water ph level.

Maybe a few more caves or shaded areas. My Front swims out in open water, but has is comfort zone behide all the rock that he spends quite a bit of time. Frosty, I've got a little yellow sexfasciatus (3") that always flares at my 5+" Front. The front will allow him to strut his stuff for a little while, then he opens wide and sends the sexy running. Very amussing to watch.
