Just because the water they are being kept in has a high ph does not mean it's not freshwater :screwy:

Yes it does.. High p.h of over 8.2 is african..
 
The pH level has absolutely nothing to do with salt content of the water. African cichlids are freshwater fish.

No but it has to do with the acids in the water... I will try drip accumulating
