i want to keep a small group of fronts but my local water is soft and acidic, Ive always kept fish that suit my water. How do go about changing it to hard alkaline and what do i do on water changes?

Tou can use aragonite as a substrate and texas holey rock/limestone to maintain a high pH. What is the averge pH out of your tap? What tank size are you running? Do you have room for a water storage tank that's 50% of the size of your tank?

Im not sure what size tank i will use but if i have space i will do water storage for changes but if not what do i do

Tank size matters more than the PH. They will need a 6 foot tank in about a year or less.

If the PH is 6.0 or higher I wouldn't worry about it. It's better to leave it alone than to try to adjust it after each water change.

They get used to it.. just keep the water clean and warm... it's the fluctuations that will kill them. I've had all of mine for awhile now...i want more!:)

crushed coral is the way to go. stick some in ur filter for awhile and ur good. be sure to rinse it will first though. my water turned cloudy for a day or two, but now its good.

I have two areas in my tank. One end is natural rock with river stones over top... while the other is sand. My front likes both sides of the tank. Really likes the river rocks, because he can pick food out of them...
