Hey guys,
Anyone know a good way to keep frozen blood worms floating? :S

Frustrating trying to feed the lil aro cuz it keeps sinking after one bite ! and then only small strands float but the rest just sinks to the bottom... and my aro does not like swimming down to eat the rest (I prefer him not too anyways)

So is there any way I can keep the bloodworms floating? I think its a bit too early to try handfeed...

Thanks,
Swarsh

Oh, maybe lowering the water level will help?

So your saying I should defrost it and just put the strands in? I tried that but majority just sinks...
So fr I'm having to net the worms that have sunk n place it back to the top n pray some floats... I don't mind doing that but it just scares the aro a bit cuz I have to constantly put my net in

Why not feed the freeze dried. They float.

The arowana is eating. re-read the post, he is eating.
I'm just wondering if there is a way to make the frozen BW float longer~

Thanks

I defrost mine in a coffee mug with water. Then I use a dropper, the kind you get from the pharmacy for kids. I suck water into the dropper and squirt it into the cup a bunch of times. Little bubbles attach to the blood worms and they float. You do have to be a little gentle putting them into the aquarium and probably turn the filter off. Or else the bubbles will get knocked off.

Hmmm, that is a pretty good idea !
cuz I think that is exactly whats happening when i net the BW out and gently place it on the surface and most float...

I'll give that a go if i can find one of those seringe things!

Thanks

actually i keep mine frozen i just take a litttle at a time like 1cm x 1cm chunk at a time if you keep them frozen they'll float longer, i find by the time the aro bites into them they're already sufficiently thawed that they don't spit them back out.
