Frozen food for rays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What pellets are u using....how big is the hystrix?
About 10 inches or so.

Tried Hikari Massivore, and Hikari Cichlid gold sinking

Soaked in chopped earthworm prior to feeding.
Have withheld food for a day or so, but am scared to starve them further than this

At 10 inches u can starve for a couple weeks easy...go for a week and see how it goes

The pellets that have worked the best for me with rays are hikari carnivore

Ok, will give those a go.

The Rays are doing well and eating earthworms and smelt.
So I am scared to trigger something that will cause them to go downhill

I am a newbie to Rays :)

Once u get them on pellets feed that for a little bit then start rotating everything

You can do pellets in am and frozen at night as well

I have had all the rays i have ever owned on pellets. They will take them eventually just keep trying!
Soak in worms, and let the pellets get soggy. Feed them only the pellets. if they wont take them, dont give in try it again. after a week or so give in and give them some of their favorite again, and then repeat.
i have broke flowers, motoro, p14, hystrix, and hybrids
i had the biggest trouble with one male hystrix and a male p14, but eventually they broke and when they did they would tear pellets up!!

Thanks for the advice.
Will give it a try.

As I say, I am new to Rays. And so far, mine are doing well.
So I am a bit scared to cause any problems with them.
