LV Golden Knights!
So the jar and monos in my 150 still wont accept pellets. I have been mashing pellets in with bloodworms for a week and a half now and am wondering if I should just feed them tilapia fillets and market shrimp? They were already accepting these before i tried pellet training. Pellets are more convenient, but they arent really growing on the pellet/bloodworm mix and all the leftover pellets/bloodworms are making my tank dirty so i have to do a 40-50% wc every 2-3 days.

HOw big are they? WHen i had tiny orino's..a 4 pack. I would use the pellet/bloodworm/brine mix and feed em a tiny bit at a time by spoon. They would come up and hammer the spoon. This way it allowed me to monitor if they were actually eating the pellets. They were....and got fat. I would keep w/ the mix cause pellets are a much better/easier staple.

Will they eat a frozen bloodworm cube? I go tmy Kelbs to hammer pellets because they ate bloodworm cubes so I defrosted a bunch of BW's, mixed them will pellets(light mix to start and heavier later) and starting dropping the pellet BW cudes in. they ate it and now they eat massivore, carno sticks, pellets etc.

They are about 3" and pretty skinny. Guess ill keep mashing pellets in with bloodworms. Just seems after almost 2 weeks I'm not making a whole lot of progress. I had this problem with my smaller kelberi and had him on pellets within 2 weeks, he was making progress everyday though.

I've been mashing the pellets/cichlid sticks in with tilapia and it works great. They are getting fat and I know that some of the pellet/cichlid sticks are making it into their bellies along with the tilapia. I'm going to slowly try to reduce the tilapia and increase the pellets/sticks as I go along. It's still messy though; I'm doing 50% water changes every 2-3 days.

I dropped a few aro sticks one at a time this morning to see if they would take them and 3/4 of the bass each took a stick and the jar took 2 but after that they all lost interest. Still had to mash up the pellets along w/ bloodworms. Just happy to see some progress this morning.

What pellets have you tried?
I never had any issues getting fish to take New Life Spectrum at the shop I was running, even the rays took to it within a week.
