is it bad to feed fish frozen foods......
smelters/prawns/etc?

should i thaw it?
im lazy lol

I think they are supposed to be thawed.....might give the fish a brain freeze, kind of like drinking a slurpee too fast. But, yes frozen foods are good for the fish.

I thaw out all of my smelt and shrimp for my rays everyday. I could feed them frozen and they eat them, but it isn't like it is that hard the thaw it. Put it on a plate and let it go.

I don't think you are lazy, just impatient, but understandible.

I feed my fish blood worms and brine shrimp frozen, but that is more for a time release reason. Shrimp and prawns are easy to thaw, and I always thaw mine before I feed my Aros. Just put them in a cup with luke warm water, or about the temp of your aquarium water. let it sit for a couple of minutes and your done. Don't use hot water or boiling water just because its the same thing as boiling vegetables, the majority of the nutrients leach out of the food and into the water.

Yea i agree, boiling water will cook the prawn..
I thaw prawn in cold water for my fish..
