first my tank cycled so I got my senegal and a african brown knife pics below and they seem to have adjusted well
so when feeding my new fish tonight I decided to try giving them some of the frozen brine mostly because this morning my knife wouldn't eat the shrimp pellets at least not before the poly got them and freeze dried blood worms float so my bully of a gourami ate them and I wanted to be sure the knife ate.

stupid pack should come with a warning label
" contents packed more densely than should be possible"

I thawed what I thought was a small piece and added to my tank
Good news my knife likes brine and my poly is a very happy fish
bad news after all three fish in the tank ate there are still stupid shrimp in my tank my fish will not need fed tomorrow
How big a piece of frozen food should I thaw for one 4" knife and/or one 3.5" senegal

lol sorry that happened..lol

you really have to trial and error with frozen foods, adjust the amount you feed to how much they consume in 2-3 minutes that doesn't count with the food in the water from the time you drop the first bits of food in.

Hold the frozen blood worm in your fingers and let them start thawing, that way it won't all float and everyong gets some. I have to do this for my Discus tank that has a few angels in it.

I just buy the cubes. It does cost a litle more, but I don't have the monsters that some of these people have. I also thaw them out in a small cup of water.

you could always thaw in a cup and then use a turkey baster or syringe to be able to deliver the food to wherever in the tank you want.

Lol, I don't even let it thaw. Just toss the frozen cube in and the fish eat it as it melts. Lets em keep up with the pace of food floating around in the tank.

The reason I don't just toss the cube in is bc since I have mostly cichlids, one would always either hog the whole thing or practically inhale it

I have the exact same problem taht u do, my JD will inhale a WHOLE entire cube. So I buy the big sheets and thaw out chunks of krill and mysis shrimp and silversides so all of them get to eat big pieces. Also the sheets are more cost effective than the cubes as they last longer and are cheaper and your fish are getting more protein and fiber and all the stuff they need more out of the sheets than in the cubes.
