Frozen foods question?

I've seen the cubes I thawed less than that off a sheet
fortunately my fish seemed to have eaten almost all of the brine shrimp overnight
the knife had no problem getting to the shrimp, but I got the wrong kind of bloodworms the freeze dried ones float and the knife is still to new to swim to the top to feed
