I don't believe they are restricted. I was just glancing the sticky post of FRT Restrictions.

Due to their ambiguous status in the eyes of F&W, MFK does not allow the sale or solicitation of FRTs from US members.

There really isn't a problem but this is coming from a guy that keeps his corn snake in a small critters cage.

what would be wrong with placing an frt in a filtered kiddie pool?? as long as it is deep enough there is no problem in my eyes and keeping leos in a 10 is a bit small mine (leopards geckos) all started out in 20 longs but have now been moved to a custom 44"w x 24"d x42"t

I bet you didnt read every content about my corn snake post. Let me reinform you that my snake was escaped from my rubbermaid box in my basement... it was missing for weeks... When I found it, I realize that I dont have any room at that time to keep the snake, so I post can I keep it with my Ball python (and everyone said no). so I went to the store and bought a critter cage for it (and I specifically mention in the post that its only for temporary) and in less than 24 hours time I found a new owner, and hes gone to a better home :irked:

The enclosure's length should be 4 to 5 times the length of the turtle and 3 to 4 times the length of the FRT for width, and at least 3 times, filled up 2/3 of the way, the the length of the turtle for the height for the bare minimum -- at least that is what semi-aquatic turtle breeders tell me anyway.

At 22", you are looking at something in the 1500g+ range.

Now I wasn't directly aiming at anyone on this forum with the leo comment, just that I have seen a lot of people who keep adult leos in crix boxes and shoe boxes. If they were juvies, it would be a different story.

I love how some folks bash before offering advice.

I don't.
Think oddball used to (or maybe still does) keep them in large drums or similar. (I may of course be completely off the mark :nilly: ). Yes, plenty of people have them in tanks, but like a lot of things, get upgraded as it grows. They do have specialist needs, and of course anyone getting into them should do a great deal of research, probably starting with oddballs sticky :)

Not drums. Rubbermade bins. Each small FRT has a 52" x 30" footprint all to itself. The larger ones (10" and up) have 65" diameter bins. Their only tankmates are feeder minnows and baby crayfish.
