What is good and what is bad for them?

I remember from having a quaker that you should never give any type of parakeet or similar bird chocolate or avocado because it's highly poisonous to them. Don't give them dairy because they're lactose intolerant.
Don't give them any seeds or pits from any fruits (like appleseeds or cherry pits for example), 'cause most of those are poisonous to any animal.

No you can give them actual seeds, like normal bird seed, but you can't give them seeds from fruit like apples and cherries and stuff. They can eat a bit of the fruit itself, just not the seeds FROM the fruit.

lol, yeah that's what i was talking about too.haha or else we wouldn't have any birds in this world!

loconorc, you need to learn before you get pets. not learn after you buy pets. i didn't expect a pet turtle to come in my life.

i just havn't done my animal research the past few years so need to keep up.

Youre right. Well, I'm glad youre doing it now, most don't do it at all. So do you have parakeets now or are you planning on some?

I already have 1..she's around 5 years old. had another one but he passed away..
up until like 2years ago, I used to be an real expert when it comes to birds..but then I got into fishing and didn't do my bird work as much, and here I am forgetting everything..

I take her to annual check-ups at the vet and my dad told me that even the doctor was surprised of my knowledge!
