ok so i collected my own driftwood, and since i didnt wait for the wood to be completely ready for my tank it has since grown a lil bit of fuzzy algae. Nothing substantial. but since this has happened my convict Fry is ALWAYS eating it. i have 2 batches of convict fry in my tank, 1 batch eats the algae and one batch does not becuase the other fish claimed the area. The batch of fry that eats the algae is atleast double the size of the others. I since have pretty much stopped trying to feed the 1st batch fry since all they do is graze anyway. I still drop in flakes and brine shrimp for the others though, my question is has anyone seen this before? is it a good idea to get a lil piece of wood in a little 20G tank to grow some algae so that ican tranfer the fry over to the tank to growout. i want to take the fry form the parents so they will produce again. Ill post some pics monday of the fish "grazing"..

opinions/comments?

I wouldn't see why not, if it worked.. You could just plant the already growing piece in the new tank.. ANd put a new one in the already up and running tank..

To kinda go along with his question, would convict fry eat on Java Moss?
