Fry tank algae

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When this happens in any of the small ponds I helped manage, I would remove big chunks of algae and let it grow again, I would put removed algae in compost, I have noticed fish seemed to prefer to eat less mature clumps of algae, not sure why

I dont know. I have clumps growing in my betta tank so that might be part of it

If left alone, it will collect enough air bubbles to float to the surface.
If you had more water movement. It would not get so blob looking. Water flow will also encourage green hair algae to grow.
An up flow algae scrubber, air bubbles, flowing over an illuminated plastic screen, will support a pod of daphnia, small water bugs, that fry can eat.
