Is it possible for the ammonia level to be too high. Not sure if that is how this works but just throwing it out there.

If you have a good relationship with your LFS or buddies in the hobby grab their sponge filter add water get it to temp and put fry in. Let the new sponge filter gets it BB and wait a month and give the sponge filter back.

I do this with buckets, totes, and tanks. When I need it asap thats what I do. I buy those cheap 1-3$ from ebay that take a month to get here lol and they work perfectly.

What's the water temp? Raising it can speed up the cycling process.

currently temp is low 70's . I will try and raise it.
