Fry, yes! ...and these guys??

I didn't see spawning but I definitely had some plump females and a deep red male. The females were skinny when taken out.

The mystery fry are about 1/4 the size of the guppys, and don't really look at all alike. I see a tinge of red near the eye for the mystery fry, but hey I just might be in denial. Every time I look I find more, so I suspect they might be hatching between the gravel?

Well it's possible then... Guess you'll have to grow them out and see!

cherry barbs do scatter their eggs and spawn very easily.. so it is possible. too small to ID at this point

Hey guys, it's almost been a week. I'm now 100% the "others" are cherry barbs now. They have the characteristic brown line across the body as they have grown. Will get some pictures up soon.

Just regular 50% water changes weekly with colder water.

I love when that happens! I once got a bunch of baby goldfish when I bought plants that were kept in a large aquarium where the shop also sold fancy goldfish. Apparently, they kept them well. The tank I was setting up was new and cycling but after about a week I started seeing goldfish fry!
