I am not a fan of them. I just sold my 720 mostly because the center overflow was getting in my fish way. I like the corners the best and only 1 side.
Tank i have now is like a room divider with whole corner a overflow, its nice but takes a few inches away from swimming.
Wish someone on here would get this tank!
 
My 720 [96x36x48] is the same way..Island overflow in the dead Center...don't really like it either..but what can you do.
As far as this tank,I've been talking with the gentleman and there was conflicting inputs on true dimensions. As of right now, it is 192x48x48 x 1 1/2 thick, and obviously 2 center island overflows. But..with a 48 inch foot print in depth, that's not bad.the corals can be removed and the overflows could be wrapped in stone or wood to give the south America River bed look.
 
Yea i was thinking the same as you guys. I have another tank that has center overflows and i don't care for them either. I read that you can cut them out and just add an external overflow. I wonder if that would be ideal for this tank. I agree this tank is impressive tho..looks like its in great shape too.
