Let me start off by saying Thank You, to everyone that replied to my ad. This tank is beautifully amazing. I only needed to get rid of it to help pay off some of my dads hospital bills that he left me with before he passed away 6 months ago. Plus, I'd like to get an even bigger tank in the near future. For some reason, I was getting these insulting offers by some people knowing the predicament my family and I are in. So I decided to drop the price let other people get a chance at this great offer. At this point, it wasn't about the money... it was the fact that I needed it gone. You can ask anyone that came by to see it. The tank is in pristine condition. No algae, no scratches, no corrosion, or bowing/bulging.

Well, yesterday I was at my local pet store and over heard a young boy talking to his mom and the store owner about his saving up for his "dream tank" It was only 120 gallons, and he had only saved up 160 dollars. The owner was giving him a hard time and was asking how long would it take him to save because he would sell it if he didn't have it within a month. His mom was on a fixed income after her husband died of cancer in February. This heart breaking story tugged at my heart because I knew how that young boy felt. When the owner walked away, my wife and I introduced ourselves and told them about the tank. This boy was SOOOO HAPPY! He didn't even know people had tanks that size at their houses. The mom at first declined because she said there was no way she could ever afford something like that. I told her that she didn't have to afford it.... I would give it to him. I gave him: both tanks and stands, a Fluval X5, 200lbs crushed coral, light fixture for both tanks, and a 110 aqua clear. I showed him (his name is Tyler) and his mom the picture on my phone and he almost passed out. We exchanged information and they will be here Saturday to claim his prize. He kept trying to give me what he had saved, and I refused it and told him that once the tanks were set up, he could go out and by all the fish he wanted.

In the beginning I desperately needed that money for my dads bills. As time went on it started to be less and less about the money and more about making someone else happy. My dad and I shared this hobby. My dad had and built by himself a 1000 gallon fiberglass plywood tank that sat in our dining room. He taught me everything I know about fish. I am very passionate about this; even more so now that he is gone. I saw this opportunity to make this child and mom smile. To me, it was priceless.

Once again thanks to everyone that was interested in the tank.

P.S Sorry it took so long to respond to everyone. Last night was the first time I was able to get on MFK and check the status.

Maybe a bit late seeing this thread but this is a truly awesome story. Really great to hear. I would have done the same thing and told him to use the saved up money for a nice stock. ;) Really nice of you bro.

P.S.S: If some of you think I am making this up; I AM NOT. This goes out to the true hobbyist out there; the true Monster Fish Keepers. If you are really passionate about your hobby, you know there is nothing that will stop us. Regardless of size, price and distance, we usually do what it takes to make it possible for us. We all came from and started from somewhere. For me, it was my dad. I just became that boys beginning. The dream and adventure will begin for him on Saturday. I wish him luck and am happy that I could provide this start for him...

You are the MAN!
