What's it matter if it was in a tank w/ shrimp or coral or whatever? Looks like regular base rock with a few skeletons of some LPS.

The main thing you want to know is if the tank was ever dosed with copper. The rock is dead and dried now, so you'll have to cycle it again no matter what.

And yea, $40 was a lowball offer. $80 is very fair IMO. Bump for a good price.

The reason I ask is because base rock out of tank with shrimp and coral is far less likely to have copper than one that came out of a FOWLR. If he doesn't know whether or not the tank it came from dosed coper, knowing it came out of a reef tank helps.

Also, just because it is dead and dried doesn't necessarily mean it will need to be cycled again. If there is no decaying matter left on the rocks, they can be placed in a tank without causing a cycle. They just won't be able to serve as filtration immediately.

Trash days wed...
so 60 takes all or ill just give it to my homies....

lol. live rock often goes for $2 a pound around here. and base rock often goes for $1 a pound. buying all the rock + unknown conditions (copper or other meds) = $40 total. it's really not a low ball offer.

:iagree: Don't mean to derail bro Ben thread :)
