Actually seedubs, I'm gonna try to find him a mate

If you get him in breeding mode, he'll terrorize your tank hahaha. If you think he's bad now, you're eyes will be opened :) If you want to get him a mate, I'd recommend a tank just for the pair.

Anyways, it's good to see that he's still healthy and looking good.

How's that Grammodes doing? The ones I kept are growing SUPER slow.

I have the JD and GT separated for a week or two . I may try to introduce them again

Good luck with that. Sometimes you get lucky and it works and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work though, don't keep him just b/c the original owner wants you to. That guys a stunner and if you put him up on CL or MFK, he will eventually go.

Man! What are you getting rid of my old fish for!

He looks like he's still fat and healthy. That guy was always a giant pig.

FYI everyone, this is what a PETCO fish can end up looking like. I raised him on NLS and bloodworms until a couple months ago when I gave him to sizzlahr. He's never had parasite issues that are common to GT's, and he's always super healthy.

And it's surprising that he doesn't like your JD. He grew up with one.

Anyway, up for an awesome fish. He's got a TON of personality. If I had the tank space, I'd take him back.

Wow. That's a Petco fish? He looks great! Do you have pics when he was little?

Here's some videos of him when he was smaller. Click on the photo to link to the video.

A long time ago:

About 4-5 months ago (he's a glass banger)
And if you look closely, you can see that his bottom lip is slightly deformed, but that's the only thing I noticed genetically that was off with him. But no crooked spine or anything like that. I got him originally to show that a petco fish could be pretty great if allowed the time and space to grow out properly:

And by all means, re-home him if you need to. I'm not actually upset about you getting rid of him if he's not working out. Just please make sure he goes to a good home and not some idiot that's going to keep him in a 10 gallon.

I was so impressed with your GT, I had to get my own. Hopefully he/she will be just as nice. Forgive the blurry phone camera pics. :D
