great pumps for sure, I had the smaller one in a biocube 29 reef... turned it into a tornado even on lowest settings. Great pump with many options

only setting i ever used was jus forward at set %. its crazy how this system works. any tips on making it work for a river style tank

Assuming you mean one of the pulse modes
