Its a what was known as a B. Flavicans but the name has been changed and i cant remember the new latin name but it begins with an R. John at east coast had one for sale a few months ago that size for $125 I believe

Brachyplatystoma flavicans... "Dourada" catfish?? :uhoh: How much?
It's already been identified. Ed misidentified it because if you have really seen one in person, they do resemble a tigrinus, and they are very shiny! Anthony used to sell them when they were at 4" for $175 each, so I am not sure where you can get a specimen at 9" for $175. Plus not much of them are around right now. They might start coming in since the season for them is around this time. If you can find them cheaper so be it, but please. This is Ed buy and sell thread, and if we are not really interested in buying it, then please just let him sell his fish...he hasn't done anything to anyone in here to get railroaded like this. So if the price is expensive, PM him and make an offer, all he can say is "yes" or "no". Let's all get along :headbang2: :)

You have pm. Thanks everyone now he knows I'm desperate for one and he'll probably want $500.00! LOL.
hey Jarrett, Ed is my bud, he sold me lots of "NICE" fishies, and great deals...send him a PM for your Offer, I am sure he would consixder it...drunks *** BEOTCH!!

Vince is right, we all need to be courteous to one another and keep it strictly legit. :headbang2

IMO, I think the asking price of $300 is a fairly decent one... considering it's a Flavicans that size. Plus+, it is already acclimated, adapted and eating healthily (taking raw shrimp, NOT only feeders!) The people who have kept these cats, I think know what I'm talking about?!! (rubbing on glass corner, etc. when first getting?) ;) Anyways, GL with the sale, sea-monkey!
