I think I invented this. I flow around 700gph (but will handle close to 2x that) and I run full siphon through a trickle tower. It works really good

You guys are way under. I have 3 1" drains with dursos. I run 2 Laguna max flow 2000. No gates or balls on pump or drain. It is dead quiet and It can even easily handle me adding water at the same time. I'm around 3000gph with 3x1" drains

A little under, not way under. 3x900 is 2700 GPH. That's pretty close to the 3,000 GPH you're getting. I think that's pretty good for a quick guess on a website. :). MFK rules!

That is a very cool setup! Ya I would never have thought of running a full syphon on a trickle filter would be possible. Anything is possible if you try hard enough right. I might have to try this someday

Just curious, is the water level above the dursos? Or do they keep up?

Also how far is the verticle drop to your sump?

From what I've experienced and from articles I've read with actual "lab tested" flow rates, 1" pvc typically only runs around 400gph in an open channel.. and around a thousand gph in full siphon

Not saying you're wrong, or lying at all, just curious about how your tank is set up, Sean.

(Edit. I'm in the early stages of planning a standard AGA dual overflow reef ready 180g build. I wanted to run the returns over the back and run 4 simple durso drains - 2 per overflow box. I really like my beananimal setup on my 90g but it was a lot of tinkering, and I'd like to keep the next build simple... especially with dual overflows I don't wanna mess with a siphon. Looking around 2000-3000gph. 2 jabao dc pumps.. any input is appreciated)

My name is actually Josh. Long story on the username. Tank is 27.5" tall. Dursos are at about 25". They are above water level. They easily keep up. Then it drops about 24" into the sump. I actually just moved the tank to my new house yesterday and I'm re-plumbing it currently. Here is a pic of the plumbing before

I will post pics and a vid after I re-plumb
