I like the tannined water, but do prefer it clear. I've got a great 5 part documentary on the amazon. Talk about black water! I love what you've done with this tank! It's evolved dramatically since it housed Pacu's

I'm still using the mangroves. They're still doing fine with no special attention besides florescent light.

Me too. I did prune them a month or two ago. They're not growing as fast now. I'm thinking of doing an all plant filtration system.

I love the light effect. I did the opposite on my 90 and 52 with one small in the center. I may try you're way on my next tank.

270g. (72"x36"x24). CA/SA tank.... a month old... White Midas has been replace with a pair of Hoplarchus Psittacus and 2 exCichlisoma Beani. Some of the smaller Parachromis's have been removed due to aggression.
