Hi Beautiful tanks everyone...

Kristoffer... Amazing tank..:drool: Can you explain to me what the background is... How it's made.... it looks like pothos/philodendron and bark coming out of the water??? Is the entire tank top open ?? Did you make the background?? Thanks so much Sue:D

thanks:)
the philodendron...well...I'ts fake!
the background is Back to nature-slimline.and yes,the entire tank is open:)
More fun to feed the cichlas if the tank is open;)

Hey Eric - love the background. How thick is it, and do you have to clue?

It is about 5cm-7cm, maybe 10cm in some places. have to clue? You have lost me there.

I meant silicon. Usually one needs to clue the 3d background to the back panel with silicon before adding water, but emptying the tank etc. is way too much work for me :D. Just wondering if I can just stick a big piece in there and somehow hold it in place.

I only dropped the water level down 10cm and put a bead along the very top of the background. And whem it was cured after a week, top up the water again and voila. I would only suggest this if you have larger fish as the smaller fish keep getting in behind and you never see them. :irked:

Mines a resin one which is very flexible, so I folded it in half and squeezed it in thru the braces. I then piled gravel up on it to keep the bottom fitted up against the back glass, and put long pieces of drift wood propping the top up and put a bead of silicone. After 2 hours or so we got the driftwood pieces out as it was able to hold up on it's own, and waited for it to cure.
