Fully aquatic earthworms FOUND. Any info on breeding?

Wow, I'm definitely interested. i love growing my own fish food. Keep us updated on the progress!

Will do!

I have also added an air-driven box filter in place of the simple airstone. I just can't imagine letting it get too rotten in there when the stream they came from is -visually- pristine and oxygenated.

'Bad Water' might refer to green water or something. I can't see high ammonia levels supporting worm life. But from what I've read, some worms act as filter feeders. Water in the stream might look clear, but I'm sure there is stuff floating in the current that gets trapped under the rocks keeping these guys fed.

Might try sprinkling some Spirulina powder or crushed flake food. If you can get a few 1 gallon jugs, set up a few different colonies and try different foods, substrate, water parameters and see what works. Will get ya there faster than running one big setup that might crash.

I've got green water culture already. I add it infrequently for luck, but perhaps I'll up the dosage and see what happens.

At the moment, one of the large worms has passed on. The rest are doing well, it seems. Daphnia, snails and gammarus are also breeding in there so hopefully there's a little bit of nutrient recycling occurring. I add bits of leaves, algae wafers and sometimes a little crumble food, too. But since it's only filtered by a little box full of gravel, I'm keeping feeding on the light side for the most part.
