Ok, seeing as next year while I'm in a dorm I'll be stuck with a ten gallon and that's it, I want to try to find something interesting to keep. I would like something that is fully aquatic or at most needs a small platform to stand on to breathe (like a piece of driftwood or a rock slightly sticking out of the water). After a bit of research I'm pretty sure I'll need to go with some sort of newt or salamander, but I'm not sure which kind specifically. If anyone can suggest something (doesn't have to be a newt or salamander) that would be great. Please follow these criteria though:
1. Must be able to live in a ten gallon aquarium for at least a year.
2. Must be about 90% aquatic, requiring no more than a rock or piece of driftwood platform to get out of the water.
3. Would prefer something that could co-habitate with fish, although not a deal-breaker.
And before anyone says anything, please don't go on about how a ten isn't much to work with and I would be better with a larger tank. I know that, but the dorm rules say one single ten gallon, so that's what I'm looking to set up. Any and all help is as always greatly appreciated!
