Fully aquatic something for a ten gallon?

Well, now that it's looking like I can have a larger tank, I'm thinking about trying a water snake. Looking at a few sources, both the Puff Faced and Chinese water snakes are between 80-90% aquatic, and would be able to be kept in a mostly water-filled aquarium, but with a basking platform (like a larger version of the newt tank I was thinking about). Here's info on both snakes kept in setups similar to what I'm describing:

Not sure I'm going to go with them anymore, I'll have the option for a larger tank (Up to about 30 or 40 gallons probably) so I'd like to get something a bit more interesting, like one of the two snakes I mentioned above.

You will probably be able to get away with a 10g in your dorm. A typical RA won't be able to tell the difference between a 5 and a 10g, just say the pet store told you it was a 5g...

As far as suggestions, not sure how big they get but you might want to check out a water dog, but in the end they turn into salamanders that won't be completely aquatic if that is a downfall.

Have you thought of maybe doing a mudskipper tank also?

PLEASE READ: My plans for next year have changed and I will no longer be staying in the dorm that limits tank size, meaning I will be able to get a much larger tank and have a lot more options for what I could put in one. If anyone has any opinions or experience with either of the two snakes that I posted above, I would like to hear about them.
