Heres another tip. As the game is closing to an end and you see perhaps that you are to overstocked on air or ground defense, simply sell back some extra unneeded towers and buy towards the more needed areas!

Best setup I've found looks something like this. This seems to maximize the time that they are exposed to the pulses. Pulses also do lots of damage to air targets as well.
