Yes, I did that when setting up the viv. I just replaced all the substrate. Quite a job for such a big aquarium! The new substrate is a mix of ground cocunut husk, leaf litter, and sphagnum moss. I was disgusted to see that my viv was infested with small black spiders. GROSS! No offense to all you spider keepers, but they give me the heeby-jeebys.
