Click to expand... you should be able to feed them and have them consume all the food in a few minutes. if you come back 6 or 8 minutes later and there is till food floating around, you have put too much in. a good rule of thumb when starting out is this: take what you THINK is the right amount of food and then add HALF of this amount. after awhile you will learn with experience how much to feed. it will come with time.

Also, look for BGA. BGA can also cause bad smell. It will usually be a bluish green in color, and be slimy, and can really stink.
