Funny Colored Bicher

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sometimes it is just genetics, to be honest. I have a wild caught senegal and cb senegal both on the same substrate in the same tank, and although the wild caught shows a really darkish brown/gray base collor, the other is a goldish tan. also, blind bichirs develop strange coloration, as you said it was missing an eye.

it takes time for the bichir to darken up with black substrate. Perhaps that one was put n that dark tank recently. Or it might just be genetics.

senegals range from a light sandy color to a dark brown color, depending on location.

well atleast we do know it isnt a platinum. id be really jealous if u posted pics of a plat sengal u got for 12 bucks lol. end of the day if you are happy with him why does it matter if hes reg or rare?

Is this fish one solid color or is his belly a little more pale?

As far as I can tell without taking him out of the tank is the belly is the same color as the top but with no vertical striping.

I call mutation.

If it was a regular Senegal, the top would definitely be a different shade than the belly. And it would display horizontal stripes from head to tail when stressed ( if a juvenile)

IDK what's the fuss about this but it's just a regular senegal!
