future fish room

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thats a more permanent install than what i have seen done before. we will be renting the house that i am building this fish room in, can't nail the wall to the floor till we agree on a Rent to own deal.

They aren't nailed down.. But are nailed to the wall..

But not that it matters.. There is now way I would have done this in a rented property. Too much work & money involved. Besides, can you imagine the pain it would be to move 100's of fish if for some reason you had to move? No way.

mostly the room will be for the tanks i already have, and for climent control. it gets 105+ here in the summers and only down to about 80 at nights so i need to be able to cool an area. i considered just getting a ductless A/C unit but don't feel like paying 3000 or so to try to cool the whole two car garage. so a smaller room with a smaller window type A/C unit is the plan

Same deal here is Charleston, SC except I think we are a much more humid enviroment..

Hmmm.. You are going to need significant insulation regardless. Being a rented property (any property really), you are also going to have to be concerned with combatting humidity, mold, etc..

Is the garage isulated at all?

I guess space/room within the house is out of the question?

yes space inside the house is not going to happen. we plan on working with the owners on a rent to own, deal till we can get our credit up or enough saved up to make a good down payment that the banks will say okay they can afford this place..... i recently changed jobs and have already made more in 3 months than i was in a year at my last job. but most of that was from overtime. and banks don't care about over time when it comes to morgages.
