Just wanted to share a picture of the future indoor pond room. The room itself is very small it only has one window. my question is is this even feasible in such a small room? Heres a picture. This is where my baby gar are currently being raised. My main concern is the humidity would adding more windows to the house help?

I have seen a few different designs in terms of the covers for the ponds i have seen some of the folks use tarp like material and others use plexi glass . which would have a tighter seal in terms of keeping the humidity contained?

depends on your build, I guess. IF you can guarantee level surfaces, plexi would be nicer imo ... a tarp will have spots where it is open no matter what.

It's possible depending on the size pond you are going to be building.

For tops, I would go with glass. Plexi will warp, and fast. If you need to use glass, I would look into framing in some new slide windows and fastening it to the top. (laying them down) Then all you have to do is slide part of the window for feeding etc.

I can tell you know that having an indoor pond really does play a big role with humidity. I have a 1500 gallon indoor tank, and it's a hassle with humidity. I have to have an industrial dehumidifier drain into my basement sump simply because one from walmart/lowes etc wouldn't cut it. I keep koi in this, so it's not even heated.

If the drywall underneath is not treated with Kilz, you risk moisture absorption, as well as molding. But, I think since it's painted it's at least protected a little bit, and should be ok depending on the gallonage.

I used plastic sheeting over top of my pond held down with a rope under the inflatable ring this actually makes it almost air tight except for where the filter intake and exhaust come through, winter I never had a humidity prob but i also kept it covered during the summer it was helped out by a dehumidifier and venting outside
