I had a ompok bimac. he just sat on the bottom of a 20g. i had him in and served as my GARBAGE DISPOSAL eating ANYTHING the touched his water swallowing it whole in a matter of seconds he was probably about 8-10in. when i lost him do to heater malfunction

im not positive on how fast (hard to find material on it since its not very popular) but i know planet catfish said it grows to 17" (if its the right species im thinkin it is)
