I wouldn't put prawns in my ray tank. Prawns eventually eat everything in the tank until they are the only thing left.

Unless they get eaten first.

I havn't pursued this too much more, but I did narrow it down to Redclaws ( Cherax quadricarinatus ). The redclaws are not as aggressive and I can stock more of them together....I'm dealing with limited space.

Ok, I've had some time to do a little research.

It looks like Prawns need fairly hard water. That could be a problem...

Do all of the crustaceans require hard water? And what about the Clams?

That's the case for most shellfish, whether crustaceans or molluscs. Hard water has the calcium they need to build their shells.

Yeah...I gave up on having them to clean up after the rays. But I'll add a couple more stock tanks for them when I can.
