FX5 bit the dust?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would remove the pump anyways.

You mean just remove it to check it, right? I'm going to do that, for sure, and rinse it, and put it back in.

My fx5 has never done anything close to this and I unplug mine once a month to rinse media. I would deff. pull the motor and impeller off, disassemble it and clean it out. Hopefully you get it working :D

Just an update -- the FX5 is back to life! It sat in the corner, empty, for a couple of weeks. Then my husband took off the motor and looked for debris. There was none. He put it back on and filled it back up with the media (we had it sitting in the filter part of our pond so bacteria didn't die) and it worked! I'm glad it's back with us, but I'm also glad we run multiple canisters on my larger tanks, otherwise, we'd have been in trouble.

LOL I swear he just took it apart, looked at it, and put it back together. Magic haha. Oh, and he tried to find a serial number but couldn't find one anywhere. What were you talking about?

Mine has one next to the drain valve... i figured they all did... FX5-2XXXX Dont know the rest of the numbers... When you come back up to pick up the other pacu (JK!!!!) you can check it out...

LOL sure we'll be right up. I'll tell Bob to wear his wet suit. He may not have seen it. I wasn't here when he did his magic trick and made the FX5 come back to life, so I didn't get to really look for the number. If it breaks again, we'll do another search for it.
