FX5 blowing a ton of bubbles

Did you soak the scrubbies really well first before you put them in?
If not, it could just be trapped air inside the scrubbies that's only now being pushed out.

They were already wet. I had just cleaned the rest of the filter. I then filled the filter with water from the tank.

I am now hearing popping noises coming from the filter. I think something isn't seated correctly in side the filter. i will break it down and look

Make sure nothing is clogging the impeller intake down at the bottom of the canister.

Break it down completely and try again. If that still doesn't work and you know for a fact everything is seated right, remove the pump and give that a check.
