FX5 crapped out help!

Put this in the correct forum but just need quick help for all those that have had this problem too

i love fluval filters until now :eek:

regular media cleanse of the FX5 go to turn the motor back on and silence

pulled the trays out and tried it again with just water......silence :eek::eek::confused::confused::confused:\


im screwed!!!!!!!


what should i do?? i check the impeller everything looks clear
hoping for the best

i still have the ac110 and fluval 404 on the 125 so it should be ok from serious emergency but :eek:
 
You can take the motor off and plug it in to test it. It should spin the impeller....mess around with it and see if you can get it going.
 
i pulled the motor off an impeller works

whats going on?
 
could it be burned out and still working just not strong enough to pull in water????
 
I just pissed of my parents hooting and hollering haha

thanks balton for the advice, yea FX5s are a little finnick ive heard just gotta have faith :)

now picture time for the new pickups!
 
now it is noisy as heck today
running at 100% though
 
Check the impellar to make sure it has not worn down. The rattle may be caused by part of the impellar seperating or the impellar shaft being broken (this happens fairly often in all fluvals).
 
probably has worn down :(

just when i was starting new projects i will have to put the money down for unexpected crap

well at least i was cutting the stock from that tank/ slimming down the bioload when it happened
