Never heard of it as a "cheap knock off", to be honest, I actually just ordered one because of the good reviews I've been reading so I guess i'll keep ya updated...
I love the Odysea cfs 500. I have one on my 150 gallon with the mods found here http://www.aquariacentral.com/forum...-filter-review-and-circumference-modification .It is the only filter on this tank and the water stays clear and clean.The tank has 2 black crappie,2 carp,4longear sunfish,a green sunfish,a grass pickerel,and a bullhead.
