Ok I just woke up to every canister user's nightmare. Its 4.23AM now so Im sorry if I seem cranky because I am!
So if you think there is a problem with my attitude and tempted to start a flame war here, please don't. Just kindly move on to the next thread.
The entire floor was covered in water. To make the matter worst, I was sleeping directly next to the canister. My feet are completely soaked (could be why I woke up at 4). I open the cabinet and SCREW!!! The base of FX5 was covered in water.... CURSE IT!
I switch off the canister and took it out to check where the leak originated. Did the standard procedures of checking the gasket. All are fine. It was when I moved my canister that I notice a small puddle of water on the spot where it was standing. So I examined and found the origin.
It was from the pump... The orange bit below was dripping water like 1 drop per 4 second

!
Here is the bit if you don't know what I am talking about
Sorry for the poor pics, Its 4AM now, my filter is leaking and my mind isn't really thinking "photography". After that, I drain the canister and give the media and foam a good wash with aquarium water before tossing them directly in the tank to prevent the BB from dying.
Apparently I did not clean the foams well enough as the water appears cloudly now... Was planning to take the FX5 back to the store as it was only 2 month old. But I found out 2 things which really ticks me off
1. The damn shop isn't open today
2. The shop owner didn't give my any receipt when I purchased it
I hope the LFS owner replace it on good faith. Or is there any other way to prove that my FX5 is still under the 3 year warrenty? I don't really have the capital now to buy another FX5....
And also, how long u reckon the BB in the media would survive? My main surface agitation came from the FX5 dual nozzle output and now I moved my wavemaker for it to be pointing to the surface to maintain that agitation.
ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS?
