well at this point I just about give up.I have tightened everything there is to tighten,I didn't try that tape but I'm thinking it must be the hose,and I'm not buying a new hose anytime soon.
It's annoying but I'm not sure it's enough air to actually be hurting anything as far as burning out the motor or whatever.I'll probably just have to learn to live with it.
Anyhow I'm tired of looking and looking and I don't even know what to be looking for really as far as tell-tale signs of an air leak somewhere.
As for my AC110 it was wet and I was holding it by the sides.I had done so 100 times before but this time it slipped right through my hands when I was in the kitchen and smashed on the tile.a small piece fell of the impeller housing (one of the two threads that allow it to twist in place) and about a nickel sized hole in one of the corners.
It's annoying but I'm not sure it's enough air to actually be hurting anything as far as burning out the motor or whatever.I'll probably just have to learn to live with it.

I have the same problem with my Oddyssea CFS4 filter. My filter is 4 days old and as of present, it has also made my fish tank somewhat like a snow globe. I bought it brand new from ebay and it goes hand in hand with my Penguin 350. I have tried adjusting both the input and output valves of the canister filter but to o avail. Its not a big deal and besides, I don't think its bothering my fishes that much.

I had a minor bubble issue when I first started mine.
Does it cycle off after plug it in to let the air raise and come back on like it is designed too?

I have some slack,I mean it's not pulled tight...I can pull the filter forward almost a foot without disconnecting the hoses.
It is starting to make more swishing noise,not so much like a washing machine yet as maybe a good quiet dishwasher but it is swishing noise nonetheless.
I unassembled the entire filter and put it back together and it helped some but that could just be for now like last time,and I want it to stop not just lesson to an extent.....we'll see how it looks tomorrow.

As you can see there are no bubbles coming from it, my AC110 creates more bubbles than my fx5.
Make sure you get as much slack out your line as I think the "ridges" in the hose with trap air.
I don't really thing that is your problem, as the hoses are not going to trap enough bubble to make it look like a snow globe for DAYS!!!!
You have an air leak some where...otherwise it would stop after a few days.
